Karla de Lara exhibited at Art Basel Miami Beach as a special guest of the prestigious Bentley luxury brand during this exclusive car company’s 100th anniversary celebration.
Karla presented a collection of 35 of her newest large-format hyperrealistic art pieces at the event, which took place on the 60th floor of the One Thousand Museum tower, an iconic building designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid.
On December 9 of last year, she inaugurated another exhibition at the exclusive real estate development The Estates at Acqualina, located in Sunny Isles Beach, FL, with a collection focused on the hustle and bustle of various cities around the world.
At these events, Karla stressed her determination to carry out her work free of creative restrictions, adding that she has even invented and patented her own techniques. The themes appearing in her work are intricate iterations of hyperpop inspired by the entertainment industry and culture. In addition to the prominence of faces, these pieces also feature noteworthy approaches to light, atmospheres and architecture.
Mexico conquers the world through its art
Due to its excellence, Karla’s work has been exhibited in more than 37 countries.
The artist noted that in the near future “we will hold an exhibition in Montreal, Canada. I also have projects in the works for Asia, Russia, as well as many in the United States.”
“2019 has been an incredible year. I have been in some interesting places and with people who have opened doors to new art projects. Miami is definitely the place to be this week, because everything there is going to revolve around art,” she said.
