The 2025 edition of ZonaMACO, Latin America’s most important contemporary art fair, took place from February 5 to 9 at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, gathering over 200 galleries from 29 countries. Among the standout proposals was the participation of Mexican artist Karla de Lara, who presented her work at Art of the World Gallery’s booth AM112.
An artist without borders
Karla de Lara, recognized as the mother of “hyperrealistic pop” is known for her unique style that merges hyperrealism with elements of pop art. Her distinctive high-gloss technique and mastery of light and atmosphere have allowed her to create works that are both detailed and emotionally evocative. With over 450 solo exhibitions in 40 countries, her art has been internationally acclaimed and is part of the exclusive collection of the National Museum of History at Chapultepec Castle.
